What has happened to Nannie's arm?

An Easter visit to the Cutty Sark. Nannie is the witch in Robert Burn's poem Tam o' Shanter. She's also the figurehead of the Cutty Sark. Recently she's been without her arm. The second image shows a copy among the figureheads on show under the clipper. RMG are fundraising for a new version to be made, this time based on the real original. A replica can be seen in Inverbervie, Aberdeenshire. A marked change from the present version in Greenwich. (Third photo) Hercules Linton, engineer and designer of the Cutty Sark, was born in Inverbervie. This area, known as the Mearns, was also where the family of Robert Burns originated.
