A milkmaid astride a rocky grotto. The plaque states that it was presented to the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain Association by Matilda, wife of Richard Kent Jr, a local churchwarden and is also known as the Matilda Fountain. It's dry, dirty and neglected as are many of the fountains in London. Now that the Mayor is encouraging public water sources, it must be time to get them going again.
