I was invited to an event at Tidemill Gardens in Deptford. It's a wild space which the community is trying to save from development. This project shows all the symptoms of the development disease which is endemic in London and elsewhere. Local authority land is sold to private developers, made a necessity by cuts to funding. Mature green spaces begin to disappear and the biggest losers are our children. Not only do they loose a place to play and enjoy nature but their inheritance has been squandered for short term gain.
