Michaelmas Daisies

30 Sep 2018

Bees visit Michaelmas Daisies at Michaelmas in the Grevillers British and Commonwealth cemetery in northern France. This was the scene of intense fighting which brought an end to the first world war. The and the fact the the German soldiers had given up and the there was mutiny in the German navy and protests at home. Why were the dead not permitted to return, but left as they fell in a foreign land, separated from family and friends and the land of their birth? What are the consequences of this act?
