Another Anniversary

The Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden. It was a place to rendezvous, but suddenly became interesting. An Art Deco building, it's the third on this site since the first Grand Lodge of Freemasons was formed in 1717 at St John's time. At the autumn equinox in 1717, the Grand Lodge of the Most Ancient Order of Druids was formed. Is this a coincidence? The inaugural assembly to form the Ancient Druid Order was held in the Apple Tree Tavern, Charles St., Covent Garden. The four lodges which formed the Grand Lodge of Freemasons had previously met together in 1716 at the Apple-Tree Tavern. On 24th June 1717, the four Lodges gathered at the Goose and Gridiron Ale-house in St. Paul's Church-yard in London and constituted themselves a Grand Lodge. It would be interesting to know more.
