A Grey Day at the Olympic Park

A visit to the Olympic site, now called Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Arrived at Hackney Wick Station. This area of artists and creativity is slowly being taken over by new development. Into the Park, there are still signs of the optimism and care that went into the planning in relation to ecology and sustainability, like the wildlife meadows. The building work goes on, creating homes and a cultural hub. The buildings hold some artistic integrity. The wetlands are showing signs of bedding in. I wonder though, what is the orbital all about? We met some people who had just come down the slide. They really enjoyed the thrill of it. The morning was cold and grey, a contrast to my previous visit in the hot sun. Then the park was full of children. Today the activity was different, more business-like.
